Commercial Truck Safety Inspection Services

Intermountain Lift Truck performs comprehensive commercial truck and trailer inspections in compliance with Utah Safety Inspection laws and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements. For your commercial vehicle fleet to be registered in Utah, routine emissions and safety inspections are required. No matter the number of vehicles in your fleet, gas or diesel engine, delivery vans, medium or heavy-duty trucks, we can help!

DOT Inspections

Our vehicle inspection services are performed according to the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards and rules.

Utah Safety & Emissions Testing

As of January 1, 2018, these vehicles are required to pass a Utah Safety Inspection; a commercial vehicle of 10,001 or more GVWR or GCWR, bus or van for hire,  ground transportation service providers and a motor vehicle with three or more axles, pulling a trailer, or pulling a trailer with multiple axles. 

 

Vehicle emissions tests are required in Cache, Weber, Davis, Utah, and Salt Lake Counties in Utah.

Trailer Inspections

Trailer inspections are also required per federal regulation §396.17 - commercial motor vehicle includes each vehicle in a combination vehicle. For example semitrailers and a converter dolly must each be inspected.

All major trailer systems including suspension, coupling devices, brakes, trailer wheels, hubs, and axles, the trailer frame and of course all lights must be in proper working and safe condition.
